Puddy History

Every home needs a Puddystick Gnome

My name is Nicola and I make gnomes!

To be more precise I hand make unique gnomes, which are designed to be doorstops, bookends and shelf sitters or, desk dwellers, from my lovely ‘Puddy Shack’ in the village of Godmanchester.

The original ideas that eventually turned in to ‘Puddysticks’ came about some time in 2019 whilst I was looking for something to fill my time during a long-distance relationship when I only saw my boyfriend once or twice a month.

I made my first sock gnome in Stockport and immediately purchased *a lot* of socks.  However, I couldn’t quite master their shape so I moved on to working out my own pattern which (many tries later) I would eventually use with beautiful fabrics such as cotton, linen, velvet and even silk!

A lot of the gnomes, or Puddys as they are known, are made to order so that they fit perfectly in their new homes.  However, I do have a range of Ready-to Post-Puddys which can be delivered in about 4 days from payment. Take a look at the Gnomes looking for Homes page to see what I have available today.

In a ski jacket in my kitchen. Don’t ask.
